plants.place is a houseplant guide with a marketplace for private listings in Ukraine. You can read the guide without an account: an account is only needed to post a listing or to see a seller’s contact details.

What we collect

If you are just reading. Anonymous visit statistics through Google Analytics: pages, referral source, device type, approximate city. No names or addresses.

If you created an account. From Google or Facebook we receive your name, email address and a link to your avatar — nothing else. We never see or store passwords: you sign in on the provider’s side.

If you post a listing. The phone number you entered, your city, and the text and photos of the listing.

Why

• name and avatar — to show who posted a listing;
• email — to let you know when a listing is approved or taken down;
• phone — so a buyer can contact you. It is visible only to signed-in users, and only after they press a button;
• statistics — to understand which pages are useful and which are not.

Who we share it with

No one. We do not sell or pass your data to third parties, send newsletters or use your email for advertising.

Technically, the data is processed by the services the site runs on: Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Google Analytics (statistics). Photos of your listings are stored in Cloudflare R2.

How to delete your data

Two ways, both free and with no explanation required:

• Yourself. Sign in, open your settings and press “Delete account”. All your listings and uploaded photos are deleted together with the account.
• By email. Write to privacy@plants.place from the address your account is registered with. We delete the data within 30 days and confirm in reply.

Deletion is final: listings cannot be restored afterwards.

Cookies

We set a session cookie when you sign in — without it the site would not remember that you are signed in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for statistics.

If you visit from the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you press “Accept” in the banner at the bottom of the page. Your choice is stored in the pp_consent cookie for six months. Anyone, from any country, can change it with the “Cookies” link in the footer; declining also removes the Google Analytics cookies.
